About the Social Media Expert

Day Translations is announcing its career opening for the position of Social Media Expert. The ideal candidate can identify target customers and have an advanced understanding of brand development. This role will be responsible for translating and implementing social media marketing plans to increase brand awareness, traffic, online reputation, customer retention, and sales. Social Media Expert will report and work directly with our Content and Social Media Manager to translate content and strategies on Chinese Social Media, from written posts to images and videos.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce valuable and engaging content for our Chinese website and blog by translating (from our English content) or writing the content.
  • Manage Chinese social media platforms: write engaging content, post to the accounts and create digital assets.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on social media content and effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results; monitor potential issues and report to the Content and Social Media Manager.
  • Respond to comments, messages, mentions, and keywords.
  • Act as the company's advocate in Chinese social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Monitor and keep up with the social media trends (tools, applications, channels, design, etc.) and suggest ideas to implement.
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company.
  • Analyze campaigns for future improvements and plans for revising social media strategy.
  • Monitor the best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.


  • Experienced as Social Media Manager or in similar roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, such as Douyin, WeChat, Weibo, Baidu, and others.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Strong decision-making, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English (native or C1 level).
  • Residency in China.

This part-time role requires having a Skype account to communicate with the Content and Social Media Manager daily (Monday - Friday). Please note that we require daily responsiveness and a part-time engagement (20 hours per week).
